The Manitowoc Company, Ready to Adapt, Innovate, and Grow
Black Divider
From its early beginnings as a wooden ship-repair facility, Manitowoc Marine Group (MMG) has forged a reputation for quality workmanship and on-time performance that is unequalled by any other shipyard. Since launching its first vessel in 1902, MMG has built a wide variety of freshwater and saltwater vessels, including freighters, tankers, and dredging equipment, as well as 1,000-ft. self-unloading bulk carriers, ocean-class containerships, Coast Guard Cutters, Naval vessels, and even 28 submarines during World War II.

Today, Manitowoc Marine Group, a division of The Manitowoc Company, is the leader in construction, conversion, maintenance, and ship repair service for the Great Lakes maritime industries. Operating more than 60% of the U.S. dry docks serving the Great Lakes, including two of the three largest graving docks, MMG has also earned a reputation as a quality leader in constructing, converting, and repairing of ocean-going vessels that transit the St. Lawrence Seaways.

Our shipyards and marine repair facility - Bay Shipbuilding, Marinette Marine, and Cleveland Shiprepair , operate with a strong sense of pride in every accomplishment, creating a commitment to quality and performance. Our experienced workforce is adept in all phases of shipbuilding and repair for both freshwater and saltwater vessels.
